LAT Practice Policies and Procedures

  1. The coach(es) are responsible for all practice placement and workouts.
  2. Swimmers are expected to be on time to ALL practice sessions, unless previously cleared with a coach or due to extenuating circumstances. “If you are early, you are on time.  If you are on time, you are late.”
  3. Swimmers are expected to arrive to practice with the appropriate time needed to change, gather gear, and put caps and goggles on in order to get in the pool on time. Pool time is valuable, and every set has a purpose.  Don’t waste your practice.  Every practice is a chance to get better.
  4. Practice gear requirements are as follows:
    1. Barracudas: team cap (if needed), goggles, swimsuit, fins, kickboard, snorkel, mesh gear bag, sunscreen, water bottle
    2. Sharks: team cap (if needed), goggles, swimsuit, fins, kickboard, snorkel, mesh gear bag
    3. Junior: team cap (if needed), goggles, swimsuit, fins, kickboard, pull buoy, snorkel, mesh gear bag, sunscreen, water bottle
    4. Senior: team cap (if needed), goggles, swimsuit, fins, zoomers, kickboard, pull buoy, paddles, snorkel, mesh gear bag, sunscreen, water bottle
    5. Elite: team cap (if needed), goggles, swimsuit, fins, zoomers, kickboard, pull buoy, paddles, snorkel, mesh gear bag, sunscreen, water bottle
  5. If a swimmer requires a cap, the team cap must be worn at all times. We are a team, in the pool and out of the pool, in practice and in competition. Practice caps are orange. Meet caps are silver.
  6. Parents are not allowed on the pool deck during practice unless cleared with a coach. Watching a practice is acceptable, but must be done away from the pool deck.  This is in coordination with USA-S swimming recommendations.
  7. Unless cleared by a coach, swimmers are expected to attend all practices at their scheduled times.
  8. LAT Code of Conduct will be followed at all times.
  9. In the event of emergency or hazardous weather, the coach will do their best to notify any and all parents/swimmers or any changes to the regular schedule.
